The cloud salesman.
LinkedIn just dropped a spot that I’m sure many of us can relate to. Pretty sure my dad has introduced me as a social media ninja to more than a few people.
Love this messaging. Parents don’t get B2B, but LinkedIn does.
Let’s talk rebrands.
As was just tweeted (or X’d?) by yours truly, Marketing Brew has released their winners and losers in the world of rebranding this week.
The winners
🏆 Barbie's brand makeover
🏆 EA Sports FIFA successor, EA Sports FC
🏆 Eurostar's railway rebrand
The losers
🙈 HBO Max's rebrand to Max
🙈 Twitter's switch to X
🙈 Johnson & Johnson’s new visual identity
One brand they didn’t cover is Eddie Bauer, who, after 59 years, has finally come to the conclusion that kids don’t learn cursive in school anymore.
Trains, now on Uber.
Let’s talk about Uber Trains.
In the UK, you can now book journeys through National Rail, National Expres, and Megabus from the Uber app. And this awkward spot highlights just that.
It’s the work of creative agency Mother. There’s a second, similar spot as well.
We dig.
Before you go, we wanted to mention that we’re opening up The Ad Spot to you, our fellow Ad Spotters.
If you spot an ad you love and want a little shoutout in the newsletter, just respond to this email or connect with me on X and shoot me a DM. Share a trending ad and your thoughts, and if it’s Ad Spot worthy, we’ll include your writeup, ad, and a link to your LinkedIn or X account in the newsletter.
I want to feature more of the community in upcoming newsletters, and get your takes on the latest and greatest ads. Sound good?
