Ads of the Week: King's Edition
A 4-hour ad from Nissan, PetSmart jumps on the King's Coronation, and a dumb phone from Jose Cuervo.

There’s a new King in England, and more than a few brands pounced on the opportunity to make an ad fit for the occasion. Most notably, PetSmart.
The company wants to give shelter pets the royal treatment, so they hired who else but Dana Carvey to grace the not-so-iron-throne and give us his best King Charles impersonation. The video’s already racked up over 700K views on YouTube, and we have to say, it’s a winner.
By the way, the bit in the ad about people going crazy for Dalmatians after each Disney re-release of 101 Dalmatians is real, we Googled it for you.
The 4-hour Nissan ad viewers aren’t skipping.
Buckle up, folks, because Nissan just cracked the don’t-skip-code.
In the usually boring world of the automotive industry, where commercials usually consist of vehicles triumphantly conquering various terrains, you know, the ones you’ve seen 8,000 times this year alone - Nissan is cutting through the noise.
They decided to flip the script and launched an ad as refreshing as a summer breeze on a long road trip. Or, for the golfers among us, as refreshing as a hot dog at the turn. What could be better.
Nissan graced its YouTube channel with a mind-boggling four-hour video. It's a journey set to a custom Lofi playlist, following an animated character cruising along in a Nissan ARIYA, passing Nissan billboards as they go.
Since its debut in February, this bad boy has garnered over 17 million views and a staggering 3,500 overwhelmingly positive comments. Move over, Hollywood blockbusters, Nissan's got the real cinematic masterpiece right here.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride. Love the outside the box thinking on this one.
